Smoke and Mirrors Obama Style

For the life of me I fail to understand in what universe a country of 320 million that signs up 7 million ( 0.0218% ) of its citizenry into a program is called a "Success" Even if each one enrolled represents a family of 4 that's still only 28 million or 0.0875% of the population.

It seems as if the 99% argument has done a 180. Where does the $$ to provide 'subsidies' come from?

If they're getting it from premiums then that means less money goes to actual care, if they're getting it from general taxation then it means that not only those that receive subsidies are offsetting their subsidies, but those who are fortunate to have their own coverage get to pay even more!

Even Ponzi couldn't outdo this scheme?

Have you fed your welfare victims today?

As Conservatives are told they are heartless about providing benefits to people that won't work, we find out that the unemployment figures are actually ginned up in Obama's favor, but creating a loophole wher millions of Americans can STILL live without working at all.

Disability is the new LAZY MAN's way to play. Disability claims are up almost 20% as people threatented with having to go back to work after disemployment incentives are used up now turn to "back problems" and "mental health issues" as the new way to get paid. In fact over 43% of all claims are related to "mental illness" and a growing number of them come from former white collar workers.

Over 10.5 million people, about 5.3 of the population now are "disabled". Another 7.5 million or another 3.5% are behind bars. 27% are under age 20. 23% are over 65. A furhter 6% of the population is "legitimately disabled" to a degree they can't work. 1% are in the active duty military. 9% are "unemployed". A further 9% do no work because they can't be bothered any more to seek a job. 8% of the population is on welfare.

Want to feel like a one %'er? You should by now.

Just remember that given these figures, 9% of the US population is providing the free ride to all the other classes (with the exception of the military - who deserve every penny they get and more). Even if you remove double counting possibilities (disability victims on welfare) - 28% of the population supports 72%.

As the disability fund is expected to run out of benefits in FOUR YEARS, I would plan on a big fat juicy take hike to pay for all the Obama supporters who can't or won't contribute.

I can only hope this change doesn't happen. I'm running out of charity.

The Destruction of Science

Further to my previous blog about how rogue scientists were manipulating data in order to artificially create the leftist panic that is global warming and climate change, I wanted to explore on both a practical and philosophical level these manipulations cause to legitimate research, science and scientists. These acts consist of taking scientific data and observations (evidence) and manipulating it for purposes of an agenda – any agenda, in this case a leftist agenda.
Burying the results, destroying the evidence, distorting the data, secreting the findings, covering up the proof, presenting only partial findings and suppressing the rest, and slandering anyone who doesn't adhere to the belief system.
It’s all part of the program – and all part of the pattern.
To be clear – I am NOT saying that the scientists did these things to highlight a particular belief system they hold (in violation of all scientific principles), I am saying, and the evidence supports the supposition, that they did it for personal, economic benefit.
Some would say the downside of this bamboozling of weak leaders, inept governments, limp bureaucrats and a lazy public is that in corrupting the fundamental principles of science these lab-coated thugs have created an environment where all of us have to be over-skeptical of real science – even science practiced ethically and correctly.
If governments were enticed to spend taxpayer money based upon an intentional fraud…that’s not a political act, it’s a conspiracy to commit a crime. It is probably even treasonous in its most liberal definition (small L liberal). And those who act as accessories after the fact are no less guilty.
It is worse than that. The damage is FAR worse than unwarranted skepticism of legitimate science.
Now political and economic entities know that “science” can be bought. Science USED to be considered as the impartial arbitrator in all disputes. Now everyone knows the “ref” can be bought off. Want to impose a tax? Buy off a scientist to support your position. Want to create benefit for one group of people over another? Have a thug-intist invent a data/study to “scientifically” support your position.
Want to exterminate Jews? Have a scientist paid to create a study that purports that their inter-breeding with the general population is dangerous. After all, this position is backed up by a “scientist”. Warm up the ovens.
Again, it’s not about having a hypothesis and finding out that it can’t be verified. It’s about hiding the truth from the public, while taking their money in a scheme to deprive them of the truth that is the evil here.
Slandering anyone who points out the fraud is equally despicable and multiplies the bad intent.
Birther. Truther. Global Warming Denier. Republican. It's all the same to these folks.
Unless the scientific community is willing to do some major house cleaning and serious introspection, research is fast on its way to becoming nothing but a propaganda tool. And those with the deepest pockets, especially the government and corporations, will determine what science is and what it is not.
It’s not that good scientists are never wrong in the science…that’s how science gets better.
It’s when bad scientists are wrong in the ethics. That’s how science gets destroyed.

Occupy the DNC Headquarters

President Obama says the Occupy Wall Street protests show a "broad-based frustration" among Americans with the financial sector, which continues to kick against regulatory reforms three years after the financial crisis.
"You're seeing some of the same folks who acted irresponsibly trying to fight efforts to crack down on the abusive practices that got us into this in the first place," he complained earlier this month.
But what if government encouraged, even invented, those "abusive practices" - that would make Obama and the Democrats the ultimate in hypocritical, anti-business, pandering, pathetic liars wouldn't it?
Set the Way Back coordinates to 1994. That year, the federal government declared war on an enemy — the racist lender — who officials claimed was to blame for differences in homeownership rates, and launched what would prove the costliest and stupidest social crusade in U.S. history. The full-court press was predicated by a Boston Fed study showing mortgage lenders rejecting blacks and Hispanics in greater proportion than whites.
It took private analysts, as well as at least one FDIC economist, little time to determine the Boston Fed study was terminally flawed. In addition to finding embarrassing mistakes in the data, they concluded that more relevant measures of a borrower's credit history — such as past delinquencies and whether the borrower met lenders credit standards — explained the gap in lending between whites and blacks, who on average had poorer credit and higher defaults.
The author of the 1992 study, hired by the Clinton White House, claimed it was racial "discrimination." But it was simply good underwriting.
When these missing data were factored in, it became clear that the rejection rates were based on legitimate business decisions, not racism.
But in deference to flawed social policies and out-right vote pandering, Clinton forged on, laying the foundation for the worst financial depression and crisis since the Great Depression.
At President Clinton's direction, no fewer than 10 federal agencies issued a chilling ultimatum to banks and mortgage lenders to ease or remove prudent credit practices for lower-income minorities or face investigations for lending "discrimination" and suffer the related adverse publicity. They were threatened with denial of access to the all-important secondary mortgage market and stiff fines, along with other penalties. The Justice Department sued them for lending discrimination and branded them as racists in the press.
The threat was codified in a 20-page "Policy Statement on Discrimination in Lending" and entered into the Federal Register on April 15, 1994, by the Inter-agency Task Force on Fair Lending. Clinton set up the little-known body to coordinate an unprecedented crackdown on alleged bank redlining, and set in motion the Second Great Depression.
The regulatory missive, which had the effect of law, advised lenders to bend "customary" underwriting standards for minority home buyers with poor credit. "The agencies will not tolerate lending discrimination in any form," the document warned financial institutions.
These actions, based on social policy rather than sound business practices are ate the root of the current home mortgage and financial crisis in America.
For the first time, Washington's bank regulators put racial lending at the top of their checklist. Banks that failed to throw open their lending windows to credit-poor minorities were denied expansion plans by the Fed in an era of frenzied financial mergers and acquisitions. HUD threatened to deny them access to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which it controlled.
"Applying different lending standards to applicants who are members of a protected class is permissible," it said. "In addition, providing different treatment to applicants to address past discrimination would be permissible.
To that end, lenders were directed to "make changes in marketing strategy or loan products to better serve minority segments of the market." They were also advised to "change commission structures" to encourage brokers and loan officers to "lend in minority and low-income neighborhoods" under the new lax requirements — a practice Countrywide Financial, the poster boy of the subprime scandal, perfected. The government now condones the practice it once encouraged as "predatory".
HUD also pushed Fannie and Freddie, which in effect set industry underwriting standards, to buy sub-prime mortgages, freeing lenders to originate even more high-risk loans.
"Lenders should ensure that their loan processors and underwriters are aware of the provisions of the secondary market guidelines that provide various alternative and flexible means by which applicants may demonstrate their ability and willingness to repay their loans," the policy statement decreed. "Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will purchase mortgages exceeding the suggested ratios" of monthly housing expense to income (28%) and total obligations to income (36%).
It warned lenders who rejected minority applicants with high debt ratios and low credit scores to "be prepared" to prove to federal regulators and prosecutors they weren't racist. "The Department of Justice is authorized to use the full range of its enforcement authority." they admonished.
It took a little more than a decade for the negative effects of the assault on prudent lending to be felt. By 2006, the shaky subprime mortgages began to default. In 2008, the bubble exploded.
And these flawed policies are still alive today. Obama is building on the fair-lending infrastructure Clinton put in place.Attorney General Eric Holder has launched a witch hunt vs. "racist" banks. The newly created Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (a jack-booted, anti business, vote-pandering machine) has vowed to "enhance fair-lending enforcement" under the auspices of the existing flawed legislation.
I'm not absolving bankers of acting greedily, but that fact was a symptom, rather than the cause of our current predicament. The evidence is compelling that the crisis evolved chiefly from government mandates and threats to increase lending to applicants who could not afford the loans in order to promote social policy and gain votes.
Occupy wall street? It would be better to occupy the headquarters of the DNC. At least we would be focused on the root of the problem.

Corzine Makes Bank, courtesy of the Unions and Occupy Wall Street

If Big Unions Agree With the Occupy Wall Street Dolts, Why Did They Support Jon Corzine For Governor of New Jersey?

Former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine is out of a job now that the Wall Street firm he headed, MF Global, has gone bankrupt, but don’t worry. He’ll be just fine. Corzine has a couple of things to keep him out of the unemployment line. First, he’s a “great friend” and “ally” of President Barack Obama, as the president himself has said. And second, he’s expected to receive a $12.1 million severance package — the kind of things that critics of Wall Street excess, like Obama, and the milk duds over at Occupy Wall Street often call “golden parachutes.”
However, many big unions like the SEIU and the AFL-CIO have rushed to align themselves with the hippy contingent of Occupy Wall Street and offer their full support of the movement.

Remember - they did the same thing for Democrat and former Goldman Sachs executive Jon Corzine who lost the governorship of New Jersey to Republican Chris Christie who the unions immediately attacked. Is this the same Corzine who's firm offered the bizarre stipulation on their bond issue that indicated they would get pay an extra 1% if Corzine was appointed to a federal position by Obama. Wow - that's really out there "in your face" for everyone to see isn't it?
Doesn’t that conflict with the reason we’ve been given for the very existence of #Occupywallstreet?
Someone is lying. Either the #Occupywallstreet protesters or the unions which claim to support them.
Probably both.

It almost seems like you can get away with bailouts and corporate influence as long as you’re a Democrat.
