I see Obama's comment after the downgrade and the nearly 1000 point loss in the stock market over the last two days is that "America will always be a AAA country".
Is this guy for real? His policies have spiralled spending out of control, and then he says that he intends to ignore the repercussions of the rating - indicating that he "has some good ideas" about how to reduce the deficit. Sheesh - this is ostrich politics at its best/worst. I only have one idea to reduce the deficit. Stop spending.
I remember when I lived in Florida that the state rated schools, and one school in the liberal stronghold of Duval county, Mollie Ray Elementary achieved the distinction of a failing grade 4 years in a row. What did the school administrators do? The ordered a bunch of Tshirts for the kids that said "F is for Fantastic". Way to duck the problem. 10 years later, do you think the shirts worked? Nope, this year Mollie Ray ranked 1856 out of 1943 schools in Florida in performance.
Ignoring the problem? "F" is for foolish.
