So, as a huge NHRA fan, I follow the exploits of Hot Rod Fuller - driver of the Digiorno dragster. Comes to the line today in Chicago for round one with a flat front tire and gets waved off by Rick Stewart (NHRA starter). Inspection in the pits reveals a small cut in the tire (about 2.5 inches wide - the tire, not the cut!) has caused it to go flat. Something cut the tire in the 400 ft journey from the staging lanes to the starting line. I have some questions - some of them conspiracy based.
1. How does a small skinny tire pick up a nick from debris, yet the massive slicks on the rear do not?
2. How does it happen in such a short distance?
3. How do you pick up debris in an area where 500 cars have travelled in the last day?
4. Why is the debris not swept from the staging lane area?
What if someone purposely sabotaged the tire? I say it is time for a full on CSI investigation!!!
We can call the episode Nitro Shenanigans.....
