Ask a stoopid question, get a stoopid answer...

Question:

Is California one of the few States that do not have on their books a law that states ;

"Anyone whom is a known danger to their self or others due to mental illness or defect , can be placed in and confined in a mental hospital till they are no longer such a danger ."

It makes more sense to me to protect the public from gun danger by removing the PERSON instead of the guns . Can't the person can find other ways to inflict harm by getting guns illegally or using "safe" objects like knives, axes, vehicles or fire?

A person confined to a mental hospital has a much harder time getting  a gun and killing someone. Or getting anything else to kill or maim someone.

Is this yet another case of knee jerk liberals creating a program that they feel good about as opposed to a program that fixes the problem?

Answer:

Yes.
